Mustering A Response - Dangit, Blimm?!!!
I've attempted this 8 times now, and every single time Blimm just.. stops. Then goes again, but he gets so far behind he dies, and I have to restart. I don't know why, I've been spamming Charge/Incoming/Etc and he still falls behind, and dies. I have NO idea what to do, and it's getting a little frustrating.
Am I missing something? Is there some magical incantation I need to chant at a shrine before doing this?
Help, please T_T

You have to make an offering of 500e to End...I also take armbraces and visa.
But nah he does tend to be buggy...all I can say is make sure you have a full h/h team and when he's falling behind and gonna be attacked flag back a hero to slow down the peoples about to attack him.

I've done that plenty of times, and when I thought it was about to work, he stopped again, and this time, he didn't start running until he was half the mini-map away.
Willing to pay someone to do this for me... X.x;

Should be in the Questions section of the forums, as this really isn't a discussion.
But to answer your question, best way to approach it, is get three heroes with "Fall Back!". Just max out Command on each hero, then just alternate it (Make sure to set your heroes to Passive so they don't stop to fight). If he stops, stop and wait for him. Then start running again. Usually he only stops for a second or so, then picks back up again. Just keep the three of them in front of you (visually) at all times and you'll be good.
Best way I found, was bringing Xandra/Razah and equipping her/his bar with Spirits. They are instant cast now so they are easy to pop up on the go. If enemies get to close to the group, micro-manage her/him to drop a SoS or a random spirit. Enemies will begin attacking it and give you some room to move.
Good luck.

Take SoS on one of your heroes, and when he starts to fall behind, drop the spirits and hit him with Make Haste!
The white mantle will stop at the spirits for a good 10 seconds, giving you plenty of time to make it to LA even with Blimm lagging behind.

Exactly what Spyder said. "Fall Back!" on 3 heroes. Disable it on all three and YOU cast them one after another all the time running. Make sure Blimm is always in range of "Fall Back!"

never had a problem ,
I just take either 2 heros with charge + para with incoming and fall back....hench can be whatever as they are fodder(just have those on heros skillbar)Just make sure your heros points are set to 12 for the respective skills
I just micro them if needed and I always stay behind Blimm up close
the heros are set as guard and even if at LA Gate.if you are behind Blimm and die he goes in and you get reward.
Also if its hard just change your secondary to any party speed buff if desired also.

A) If an NPC gets stuck, it's almost always Blimm. Probably because he's based off a very non-athletic old guy in that Office movie Anet seems to like so much
B) There are ways to minimize the chance. Mostly, by remembering that exactly 0 players/heroes/henches need to survive to finish the quest. So, bring an SoS rit with you to delay the group that follows you, and sacrifice the entire H/H cast to divert the group in the middle of the map to the side - you just need to delay them a bit.
C) As speed boosts, Incoming and Fall back at 12 command are quite enough. Just remember - the ones at the front of the group are safe - you need to worry about the stragglers (usually Blimm). Stay within earshot of those and boost them so they catch up with the rest of the group.

I think it may also be worth considering that the White Mantle mobs seems to spawn on player triggers to some extent (I could be completely wrong on this though).
I often found that the way AI responds to how the player travels forward I ended up with a massive long snake of stragglers. Instead of rushing forward as fast as possible I sometimes take it a little slower to let it ball up again. This helps to minimise the problems with you triggering a mob spawning in from the side while you are out of earshot of the last members of your caravan.

Blimm will FRACKING GO DOWNHILL TO PICK UP ROSES OR STOP AND TIE HIS STUPID SHOELACES EVEN WITH 3 FALL BACK HEROS!
The only way i pulled it off was to sacrifice my heros one by one flagging them behind Blimm just a bit before the mob catches up . Hopefully you wont have to order them all for this epic heroic death so you will still have one to kick their sorry asses and speed them to the Lion's Arch gate.
Remember , this mission is only about ordering your heros to face the mantle armies alone to buy you those precious couple of seconds ! So spice them up with some death nova or other neat tricks.

Leaving spirits to slow them down was the answer for me and maybe a few ele wards could have helped.
Anyway I didn't set the heroes to passive and I lost them towards the end, I kept spamming spirits to slow the enemy and finally died myself in site of home.
No other skills were used though initially Olias's minions slowed the first mob or two before he died.
I didn't really think about the mission just reacted to the situation and it worked but only just.

1. Stay at the end. White Mantle spawn later if you are back, it seems NPCs trigger later the White Mantle Spawns, if they do it at all.
2. Wait for them. Heroes want to stay behind you when you walk. If you flag your heroes until they are next to you, when you remove the flag, they will stop and wait until you are in front of them again. Yeah, that's stupid, you want a melee hero to be in front of you, but heroes are stupid, it can't be helped. So when you are under IMS, they'll end up outside earshot range because they won't try to be close to you, just behind you, and they'll lag behind until they are waaay behind.
Don't be afraid of stopping walking once in a while you they catch up with you before starting to run again.
2. Sacrifice. Bring heroes and henchmen. If the mantle gets too close, flag the henchmen, and they'll distract the white mantle. Next time sacrifice a hero, and keep sacrificing heroes whenever they get too close. If you run out of heroes, as long as the door is within radar range and you can see them disappearing thorugh the door, you can sacrifice yourself too. Binding rituals can be used too, since ritualist spirits are summoned quite fast in PvE.
Do this, and you will have no trouble.

The Jade Cloaks that spawn there have a massive, instant, ranged, and AI-favored snare.
I am not saying that Blimm is the best runner in the quest, but everything becomes harder when your speed is reduced by 80%.
As for the solutions... most if not all are already here.

I ran 3 Charge warrior heroes and made it with only 1 failure, and that was due to Blimm. Make sure you pull back to the middle of the pack when running, and either drop SoS or another random spirit and you should make it with no problems. I constantly clicked on Livia, Blimm, and Zinn to make sure they were within range of Charge, and adjusted accordingly. Let me know if you need help on it.

Succeeded this quest the second try. I had Charge on 2 Heroes and was using it myself to.
Blimm wasnt a problem. Have one or more H/H that tend to stop to cast spells/enchants, like an Ele H/H
In my case, my Livia (N/Rt) paused several times to cast spirits.
Point being, having H/H that end up being at the end of the group instead of Blimm.
I did loose most H/H i think.
My biggest trouble the second try were those Fire Imps outside LA, didnt kill them when i left LA. They attacked and slowed down my group when i returned.

why are you running from LA? You run from beetletun to NKP, then from there to LA...there shouldn't be any fire imps along the way.

Blimm... always the reason for fail.
I had all my heros as either p/w or w/p with the propers shouts and stuff, and still Blimm fell behind. If I do this with another person, I don't seem to have the issue because either they or me can fall back and distract the white mantle long enough, but alone I guess I'm just not micro managing my h/h enough.
So I just got sick of it and popped a clarity. Problem solved.

clarity? You mean celerity? Not sure that affects allies anyway.
Also, I've done it on 8 separate characters, many using para/warrior secondaries because I didn't have enough para/war heroes on them. Failed once...the first time. Then I learned how to do it.
I think the other person you succeed with actually knows how to keep them in earshot and distract the mantle...hell, just taking the two warrior henchies is enough to stall them if they stay with you until the last big spawn.

He runs out of breath. Annoying little bugger, you have to babysit him, and sacrifice a hero in case he starts staring at the ground.
First time it was Livia, but it's usually Blimm who has some sort of brain fart along the way. Often near the end.
I bring charge with a hero. I disable hero skill and trigger it myself to have a nice clean chain. It's usually 11 secs with full tactics, more with a warrior, so it's no problem.
Essence of celerity, that sounds like a better option actually.

I'm not sure I've ever done it without doing exactly this. If working in a party, decide on the order everyone is going to sacrifice themselves in. Load up on area speed boosts (ie. fall back) and run like hell. If you're an ele, water snares could help buy some time too.
